Please join me, Linwood Jackson, on “The Charles Brittingham Show”, Sunday Aug. 18 on News talk radio Wilm 1450 am from 7-9. My special guest and co-host will be singer/songwriter Skip Boardley Jr., Former lead singer for the Crown heights affair.
On this show we will be speaking with; Zoe Patchell , Communications Director for Delaware NORML, about how cannabis prohibition and enforcement being a costly, racially biased, and failed policy, and why we need legislation reform immediately. How our tax dollars overcrowds our jails with low-level offenders and unfairly targets communities of color and then they can be disqualified from public housing or student financial aid, lose or find it more difficult to obtain employment, lose custody of their child, or be deported, when people are arrested for possessing even tiny amounts of marijuana.
Also, after this show was recorded Governor Jack Markell released a statement saying Delaware will move forward with its medical marijuana law. Which means cancer patients and others with debilitating conditions will be able to go to a single compassion center to get medical marijuana starting next year. Delaware became the 17th state, (out of the current 20 plus DC), to recognize the medical properties of Cannabis and institute state law that granted qualifying patients the right to seek its many medical benefits.
